Curriculum Overview for Primary Years

BEL curriculum is age appropriate and it is based on learning outcomes and progressive teaching. We have integrated the concepts, processes and ways of thinking drawn from the diverse disciplines of subject areas, in our curriculum. We will begin the journey with the following subjects:
Six integrated themes help the learners of Grades 1-4 make meaningful connections through the immersive process, wherein a thematic focus straddles all areas of learning, each with duration of 4- 6 weeks.

Middle and High School Curriculum Overview

We offer a unique BE Curriculum that merges seamlessly with a national curriculum like CBSE/ICSE and International programmes like IGCSE or IB. Our focus is to take students away from rote learning, make them go beyond the textbooks and establish a real life connect with the information that they gather at school. The areas of learning covered within its parameter are:

For Middle School (Grade V – VII)

For High School (Grade VIII Onwards)

Assessments

We follow the activity based , skill-based subject enrichment assessment and written assessments. We have a grading system for activity based assessments, assignments, tests and projects. Subject enrichment assessments are an ongoing process of evaluation to assess the learning of the children. Graded assessments make use of two or more tasks ensuring variety such as role play, practical work, presentations, projects, worksheets, etc. Term end assessment is undertaken by assessing the students in subjects under the Scholastic Area using the conventional numerical marking which is later converted into the grades.

Term end assessments are traditional paper pen tests taken at the end of every Term to assign a final grade to the students based on their performance. A combination of both formative and summative assessment tasks is essential for the overall effectiveness of the evaluation programme.
