English Language Arts
The crux of the educational philosophy of our schools is to sensitize children towards our environment, society and economy and in doing so make future leaders out of them. One of the main areas of implementing this philosophy is through a well organised and effective language arts curriculum.
- Our language arts curriculum will encompass a contextual and practical approach because we believe that language is best acquired through exposure to meaningful context.
- Students learn best when they can identify themselves and their own experience in the material they read and study at school. The stories, poems, plays and readers in the curriculum will reflect Indian and regional/local milieu to nurture respect for varied multicultural backgrounds, develop awareness of the immediate environment and emphasize that diversity contributes positively to the community.
- Our schools also aim at moulding children to become innovative thinkers, sensitive communicators and problem solvers; skills essential to become responsible and caring citizens of the future. Accordingly, the curriculum has been designed to encourage students to think inside the classroom and outside / beyond it, to develop the confidence to be innovative thinkers, problem solvers, explorers and perspective takers. Our language curriculum will help students develop confidence, self-esteem and independence by being able to communicate accurately, effectively and expressively.
Symphonics
Symphonics is an in-house phonics program designed for preschool students at Birla Open Minds International School. The program focuses on building a strong foundation in the English language by incorporating phonics into reading, writing, and learning. Through engaging tools like vibrant flashcards, captivating stories, and cheerful rhymes, it ensures that the learning process is fun, interactive, and effective.Remedial learning.
As every child learns at their own pace, Podar Innovation Center provides resources that aid school teachers in providing additional support for students who require remediation. Using productive worksheets on Literacy and Numeracy, we aim to strengthen each child’s core academic skills and assist students in accomplishing expected proficiency in school.
Math lab
The Math Lab at Birla Open Minds International School is thoughtfully designed and equipped with modern tools and resources to offer students practical, hands-on learning experiences. This innovative approach allows students to explore, understand, and apply mathematical concepts effectively. The Math Lab creates a stimulating and student-friendly environment that fosters curiosity and builds a genuine interest in the subject.
Soul Science
Through the subject Soul Science, we at Birla Open Minds started out with a potent mission to facilitate a world full of energetic, self-motivated and mindful children who are able to direct their life with self- confidence and be true leaders in every aspect of life. This mission was set forth by the vision of a world with empowered and dynamic individuals with high level of morality and conscience. Individuals capable of coping with different emotions and overcoming life`s challenges with a 360 degree approach and emerge as true global leaders of the 21st Century.
We have focused on some very strong foundational blocks in Soul Science. Managing stress and conquering anxiety, developing leadership skills, time management, self awareness, decision making ability, building the right attitude to life and career, empathy (towards Family, Friends, Society), mindfulness are a few to highlight. The basic purpose is to help one explore the inner self and connect with their infinite self by using the tools and understanding to make the right choices in life thus enlightening one to a more cooperative, selfless, loving and humble state of existence.
